Sample Stash Sunday No. 1

I’ve been doing Sample Stash Sundays for a few years on this blog, and the feature comes and goes, and actually focuses on specific samples at a time. Well, in an effort to destash my samples and keep them from wasting away, I made a dedicated attempt at using them up. But, I’m going to be posting the little reviews in groups. So, we’re going to start back at “No. 1.” Because I said so. Here’s a look at my first batch of samples, some of which were tried from late last year. Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Treatment Mask* This was honestly a great moisturizing mask, but I am just really averse to creams you wipe away from your face. I just don’t like that sensation. This was very effective in moisturizing my face, though, especially taking care of the dry patches around my mouth area, which regular moisturizers tend to leave dry. Recommend if you don’t mind wiping off product from your face. GLAMGLOW POWERMUD™ Dualcleanse Treatment Mask This stung the shit out of …

Sulfate-Free Shampoo

I know it’s not the most exciting topic, but I think I’ve spoken about scalp problems before, and to be honest, the only thing that really helped me get rid of them were sulfate-free shampoos. I used to not really pay much attention to hair products, as long as I liked how they smelled, but when I started getting really itchy build-up with worrisome patches of dry, flaky skin, I started to take notice. My hair suffered a little, but my main concern was really to get rid of my scalp issues. My next step was to go more natural and pay attention to ingredients. I chose to eliminate SLS or sodium lauryl sulfate, as it’s a common ingredient that has been known to cause some problems for a lot of people. As it turns out, seeking out sulfate-free shampoos was the right step for me. Although I still have occasional …

Sample Stash Sunday: Nounou Shampoo & Conditioner by Davines*

I received these from my BDJ Box Elite last week. You can read about that here. For this edition of Sample Stash Sunday, I actually talk about hair! I’m the laziest freaking person when it comes to hair, so I don’t appreciate it when I have to do more than I think I have to. When I say lazy, I do mean “I don’t brush my hair” levels of lazy. The last time I used a brush was so long ago, I’ve regarded it as a distant memory. I’ve found the best shampoo (L’Oreal EverStrong) and conditioner (Organix Macadamia Oil) for my ponytail-thick hair, so I don’t like tempting the balance by trying out new things. However, this was the kind of product range that tempted me to try it. This also just goes to show you that I never learn. This variant is for colored hair, so I was assuming that it would be more moisturizing than usual, just because treated hair usually needs more TLC because of how dry it gets. First up …
