Everyday Face Brushes

Not that I wear makeup everyday, but you know what I mean. I’ve personally amassed a ridiculous amount of brushes, but having dialed back on the makeup obsession, there are just a few brushes that I regularly use now. Here are the face brushes that I’ve been using as of late. I am thinking about making a “Favorite Brushes” or “Most Useful Brushes” post sometime in the near future. Sigma F86 Tapered Kabuki Brush** This is the newest addition to my arsenal and I freaking love it for liquid bases that need more than finger action to blend out properly. The tapered end makes it easy for you to reach weird nooks on your face, like the space around your nose and all around under your eyes, and other places that need precision. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush This was my weapon of choice for liquid bases, but now I find I use it a lot for cream products like blush and bronzers. It still works great for your regular face base, but it also …

Make That Face Monday: My Go-To Urban Decay Naked 3 Look

I’ve been putting off this video for a really long time—like, unspeakably long—but now here it is! It’s a sped-up sort of GRWM with a voice-over that has a typical full-face routine. I’ve tried all of the 12-pan Naked palettes by Urban Decay, and I think that the Naked 3 is my favorite. I don’t think you get a lot of variety from it as it’s a pretty full-on rose obsession, but the looks I get with it are just always SO PRETTY. In the end, the face looks like this: I just realized that this video may have exposed my really shitty brow job, lol. It’s all good, though, because I don’t carve out my brows that much. I just follow the regular, “groomed~” shape and call it a day. I don’t think anyone in my immediate vicinity cares about eyebrows all that much anyway. I sure don’t. RealTechniques Duo Fiber Brush Collection

I only have a small collection of Real Techniques, even though I truthfully want them all. Even though I love my travel set and my Expert Face brush, I wanted to get one more set and I thought that this set would give me the most mileage. I have here the RealTechniques Duo Fiber Brush Collection, which has three brushes: the face brush, the contour brush, and the eye brush. I wanted to get the Core Collection, but I am a sucker for all-in-one type of sets. I don’t know why, but that’s how I ended up with this instead of the Core Collection. The RealTechniques Duo Fiber Brush Collection is a limited edition collection that’s going to be sold all throughout the year, if I’m not mistaken. It is comprised of three duo-fiber brushes for buildable color and texture. What sets these apart from most brushes is their being “true multitaskers.” Duo Fiber brushes work well with cream, powder, and liquid products, making these kind of all-around products. RealTechniques brushes are also made of …

December Favorites

I’ve got a few favorites from December! I don’t know how that happened since I was in the middle of a makeup ban… Funny how things happen. Ahem, in any case, here’s twelve products—two lip, five eye, 1 set of tools, 2 face products, and 3 skin care products. Phew. I hope you enjoy this roundup! 1. Guerlain Rouge G L’Extrait in Orgueil (Review) I purchased this on the last day of November, and loved it from the get-go, but I wasn’t able to include it in my November Favorites. The Rouge G L’Extraits are incredibly smooth, creamy and pigmented. A little lasts a long while, which is great considering the price point. I’d gotten two more shades (sale!) after Orgueil, but this remains my favorite. 2. Revlon ColorStay Ultimate in Premier Plum (Review) An excellent drugstore find! Formula is great, though a bit tacky on the finish. The color is my favorite part, as it’s a beautiful medium pinky color that leans heavily towards plum. 3. Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette for Eyes (Review) I …
