Project 10 Pan Update + Project Make-a-Dent

Hey all, just an update on my Project 10 Pan post from a month ago. I know it seems to early to have an update already, but a lot of the things I picked out were old, so I ended up crossing stuff out from my list pretty early. The empties are: — Majolica Majorca Lash King mascara: I’m pretty generous with giving mascara time, but this one smelled a little funkier the last time I used it, so into the bin it goes. Eye of Horus Natural Mascara*: Tossing because old. Maybelline The Hypercurl Mascara*: It dried out already, sniff. — K-Palette Liquid Eyeliner in 01: The unthinkable happened! I used up a beauty product. Granted, it’s a liquid eyeliner I’ve had for well over a year, but still. It totally counts. Ahava Essential Day Moisturizer*: One of the best, lightweight moisturizers I’ve ever used. Perfect for daily use.

My Project 10 Pan for 2014

I mentioned, briefly, my intention to do another Project 10 Pan for 2014, but modified to my needs and my use of makeup. I don’t wear makeup everyday—only when I go outside, and sometimes not even then. I work as a freelance graphic designer and a writer, and I’m also pursuing art. For this reason, I stay home a lot and I find it a little unnecessary to wear makeup in the house, unless I’m testing out products or looks. As such, a lot of my makeup gets neglected and, in effect, wasted. In an effort to minimize wastage, I’ve decided to do a year-long purgeˆ and also to do my version of the Project 10 Pan. This was started by Laura of Buy Now, Blog Later, when she was still heavily active in the YouTube circuit. The basic rules are for you pick 10 items you want to use up before you buy another similar product. Picking a foundation, for example, means that you have to use up the chosen foundation before you buy …

Project Pan: Going Cruelty-Free

Project 10 Pan was created by lollipop26 on YouTube as a way for her to purposefully use up 10 items in her collection that are near to being used up, before buying any more makeup. Since I am on a No Buy until the end of November, and am trying to go cruelty-free, I think this is the perfect opportunity to do just this. I’ll start with 10 items from companies that test on animals. I’m quite happy as I had a bit of trouble finding these items in my collection, as a lot of them are cruelty-free. 🙂 Also, I’m concentrating on the items that have been in my collection for a long time as opposed to items that I’ve nearly used up. I was thinking of adding the Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum in here, but I am rationing it, as I will not be repurchasing it until Revlon revises its animal testing policy. Anyway, here are the items I’ve picked out: L’Oreal Lucent Magique Liquid Foundation (G5 Gold Shell) — This …
