An FOTD that’s not my typical boring face. I keep trying to use this Maybelline concealer but it’s really shit. Not sure why people like it so much. I feel so ashy-faced, but I’m not sure if it’s because of the color match or the texture. Leaning towards the texture, which just makes me feel cakey for some reason. It’s really weird. I have a pretty full bottle here (shade Medium) if anyone wants it. I got rid of the sponge but it’s pretty intact otherwise.
I wore this look recently to a birthday dinner. The pear-like qualities of ColourPop’s Sleigh is a little subtle—it’s described as an “icy sage”—but that’s OK. It lets me wear a pink as bright as Tom Ford’s Flamingo, which is a shade that I’m still not sure why I even bought. Here are swatches of the eyeshadows I used: Swatched, top to bottom: MAKE Khaki*, Rouge Bunny Rouge Abyssinian Catbird, ColourPop Sleigh Base/Face Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint (Medium), Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (Ethereal Light), Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush (Mood Exposure) Lips Tom Ford Flamingo: I don’t know, you guys. I just can’t seem to really get into this lip color. I mean, it doesn’t look horrible or too garish, but I think that my aversion to purples and oranges switched on over to bright, medium pinks. I DON’T KNOW WHAT IT IS. And I hate that I bought this lipstick in this color, haha. Thoughts?! I’ve been putting off this video for a really long time—like, unspeakably long—but now here it is! It’s a sped-up sort of GRWM with a voice-over that has a typical full-face routine. I’ve tried all of the 12-pan Naked palettes by Urban Decay, and I think that the Naked 3 is my favorite. I don’t think you get a lot of variety from it as it’s a pretty full-on rose obsession, but the looks I get with it are just always SO PRETTY. In the end, the face looks like this: I just realized that this video may have exposed my really shitty brow job, lol. It’s all good, though, because I don’t carve out my brows that much. I just follow the regular, “groomed~” shape and call it a day. I don’t think anyone in my immediate vicinity cares about eyebrows all that much anyway. I sure don’t. At times, I feel like I’ve been “uninspired” when it comes to makeup because I rarely ever do any fun looks anymore, with the exception of certain lip colors… but I realized that it doesn’t really matter because I will use my makeup the way I want to use it. If that means yielding boring FOTDs, then so be it! For the record, I really like this FOTD, so there’s that.
Nature Republic By Flower Auto Eyebrow in 02 // NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger // 3CE Cream Eyeshadow in Glamorous // ColourPop Lippie Stix in Lumière Yay! Another 5 Product Face. I had to get ready really quickly for a short get-together with my two best friends before saying farewell to Barby, who would be leaving for Chicago the day after. Here’s what I came up with:
Hey everyone! Here’s a quick post on some of my favorite finds this year. I had a really, really hard time narrowing down my picks because, frankly, 2014 was a great year of discovery for me, as far as beauty products and cosmetics are concerned. I’ve mixed in fragrance and skin care picks, as well as other products I really wanted to mention that I really loved as well. Let’s start with makeup!
Finally. I asked if anyone wanted a video haul, and a few said sure, so now here we are. I actually filmed and edited an earlier version of this, but decided that the camera was too up in my grillz so I ended up re-shooting allll the footage, because it was just not working out. Anyway, this is a bit longer than I’d like my videos to be, but I find that I actually kind of really like it when hauls are kinda long. (Is that just me?) Enjoy, prs!
