Makeup Inventory: Revlon Lip Butters

Remember the hype that surrounded the Revlon Lip Butters? Here’s my entire stash of them. I can see your surprise. Let me explain. I used to have Creamsicle, but I sold it to my friend, Jin. Fig Jam, I gave to my sister, and Brown Sugar was up on my blog sale. I had my eye on a lot more colors but these aren’t CF so I never bought more. What I do have, from L-R, are: Cotton Candy, Sweet Tart, Wild Watermelon*, Raspberry Pie, and Sugar Plum. Sugar Plum is the first one I bought and it remains a favorite. That shade is the most appealing to me, and I find that it is the most hydrating and comfortable to wear. I think you can see what I mean from these swatches: Cotton Candy is a bit on the lighter side and can translate a bit frosty. Sweet Tart is a little too pink for me, but I want to see how I can make it work. I actually really like Wild Watermelon, even …

Two-in-One: Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon* & Enchanted Shimmer Eye Palette in After Midnight*

I decided to do these two quick reviews in one post since I got them both in last month’s BDJ Box. I feel like I’m posting too much, but at the same time, I want to get these posts out ASAP. So, here: quick reviews on two out of the three makeup items included in that month’s box. I also have a review up on the too cool for school After School BB Foundation Lunchbox. I’ve been trying not to buy non-cruelty-free brands, so I’ve stayed away from Revlon for quite a while. DO YOU LIKE THE LIPSTICK CRAGS? Anyway, Wild Watermelon is a gorgeous, juicy red that really brings summer to mind! Doesn’t it make you want to bite into an ice-cold, juicy slice of watermelon? On the lips, it’s a lot more subtle. The pigmentation is sheer, but buildable, and reminds me …

Drugstore Finds: Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

Every time I explore the vast world of beauty blogging, I chance upon random things that people seem to always rave about. One such thing is the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter. (Sidenote: Between purchasing two Revlon Lip Butters and writing this, I have actually encountered another brand of lip butter—Korres! So now, what I’m wondering is who came up with it first? Also, is it a “thing,” like lipstick or lip gloss is a “thing,” or is it a “thing” like NARS Soft Touch Shadow Pencils are a “thing”? Another thing: is lip butters the proper plural form?) Last Sunday, the Revlon counter was on sale, so my sister and I were picking out products. She had been looking for “Pink in the Afternoon,” which is apparently a Hepburn shade from Breakfast at Tiffany’s or something like that. And I was just nosing around and looking for a lip butter because I’d seen someone on YouTube rave about it. Lip Butter is sort of a lipstick balm, an in betweener in the land of tinted …
