Nosy Beauty Vol. 3: Isa

For this installment of Nosy Beauty, I’ve asked the co-founder of The Better Story Project to share her makeup bay’s contents with me. Isa is a teacher, a lover of words, and she’s also my best friend! We’ve known each other since the second grade, but it was not fraaandship at first sight. Now, we get along swimmingly. “Let me be honest: I don’t know much about makeup. But the rule of thumb that I try to follow is: keep it simple and keep it real. If the discrepancy between your real face and your made up face is too great, maybe you’re doing it wrong. Nosy Beauty Vol. 1: Isabel

Funny story, I’d been working on this new series where I kind of poke around other people’s makeup bags for a while now, when I see this post by Romila Marie of Run Barbie Run, where she posts about her sister’s makeup bag. She also likes drawing and art, but she took up European Studies with a minor in German Studies and Marketing at University. She blogs over here. She actually wore makeup regularly earlier than I did, but really focused on perfecting her base. She uses the shu uemura Nobara Cream Cover Stick and the shu uemura …

Waterproof Makeup, Kind Of

Summer is upon us here in the tropical areas of the world. I’m sorry if you are still stuck in a wintry climate (bah, you!) but I cannot pretend that I live in lovely Spring weather when I’m being attacked by prickly heat despite sitting in front of an electric fan at full breeze power. This is how hot it is in Manila: YOU CAN FRY AN EGG WITH THE SUN. Anyway, now that we have established that it’s Summer Lovin’ weather over in this part of the world, I thought I would put together a list of Waterproof-ish Makeup that is mostly melt-resistant. Sadly, I have not found a face base that can withstand the literal buckets of sweat we excrete this time of the year, but I have a few good things in here that can maybe make up for it. EYES. I think it’s pretty obvious that all of the eye products you use should be waterproof, period. Now, I know some of these selections are kind of hard to get a …
