EOTD: Radiant Orchid

Pantone recently released its Color of the Year for 2014, which is Radiant Orchid: Image from Pantone It’s a really, really pretty color, so of course I had to try and make it into an eye look. I used some shadows from the Oslo Cosmetics purchases I received last week namely, Pyxis and Lyra. Those were basically the only shadows I used but I’ll break down the look a bit more later. For cheeks, I used Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Flush and shu uemura blush in soft mauve M225. For my base, I used the Maybelline Clear Smooth BB White in 02 Natural*, set with bareMinerals Mineral Veil. For lips, I have Stylenanda 3CE Lip Color in Vamp* over the Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine. I’m testing out this eyebrow pen I just got, the Graymelin Seven Tattoo Eyebrow in Dark Brown* with a review coming right up! As for the eyes, I laid down my base (MAC Paint Pot in Painterly) and applied Oslo Cosmetics’ Pyxis on the inner 2/3 of the eye. …

EOTD: Cut Crease & Extended Wing

Here’s an eye look I tried out last Tuesday for a movie + dinner. I changed the lip to a pretty red (Le Métier de Beauté’s Signature)after I got off the train. LOL I don’t like commuting with heavy makeup. However, the true focus here = the eyes! It’s a neutral look, obviously, but I did a cut crease, an extended wing, AND pretty thick lashes (for my standards anyway), which I don’t do often. A cut crease is when the crease color is more pronounced than super blended out. That’s how I understand it, anyway. I used several colors from theBalm’s Nude ‘Tude Palette, which I’ve spoken about a lot here. I find that since using it from way back when, I may have changed my opinion on this slightly, but we’ll get to that later. I used Sassy (frosty white) on the inner two-thirds, Stubborn (shimmery pink) on the outer third. Silly (glittery warm brown) as the crease color which extended to the outer part of the eye. I used Snobby (cool yellow) …

EOTD: Something Out of Nothing

Here is today’s EOTD featuring the Avon True Color Quad in Sandy Corals (reviewed here) and my new favorite weapon, Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus 12! I have practically no relationship with mascara, because I never understood how to use it. Every time I tried one on, my lashes would look the same and I’d end up with black brush imprints on my lid or under eye area. I never knew I wanted lusher lashes until now! Luckily, my mom had an extra bottle because of a sale purchase a few months ago. So now, I have my own. 🙂 It’s got a two-sided applicator, one side a comb and the other a coil. I haven’t used it all that much to master application, though. There’s a slight blue-grey tinge to it that I don’t mind and actually enjoy quite a bit. It’s also a fibre-based formula, which has fibres that stick to your lashes, helping to elongate them. At first, I thought they were hairs from my mom’s lashes! Here’s my whole FOTD, …
