Before March ends, I’ll go ahead and share this box I got from BDJ a few weeks ago! Following their last, Kawaii Must-Haves box, BDJ’s March box* is larger than usual. If the header photo didn’t already give it away… the box is a Pond’s exclusive!
I remember Pond’s as my first facial wash choice when I was a young’n and although I haven’t tried their famous cold cream, everyone I know—and their mother!—swears by it as a makeup remover. I don’t have strong feelings for Pond’s as a brand—I kind of find the “Flawless White” campaign kind of damaging, but maybe that’s partly because I am not the biggest fan of Toni Gonzaga. I guess that’s neither here nor there.
The BDJ letter and card kind of glosses over the “Flawless White”-ness of this box and claims that they items they’ve included in it are geared to make you suit the “no-makeup” makeup look perfectly by giving you the kind of skin that can carry and pull of that look. I noticed that a lot of the claims for the Flawless White range is for evenness of tone and elimination of dark spots.
There is quite a lot of product in this box. If I bought this box and cared about the whiteness of complexion, I honestly would have been over the moon with the contents. That Pond’s is a drugstore, readily accessible brand may be a disappointment to some, but if you’re looking for value, it’s definitely here.
Pond’s Pearl Cleansing Gel (100g, Php 155) — The cleansing gel is their newest product. With Vitamin B3 and Pearl Essence—known to whiten skin—and a special oxygenated formulation, it claims to cleanse, refresh, and lock in moisture for softer and smoother skin. In my experience, gels tend to be drying, so I don’t know if these claims are true, but I’ll give it a go and report back.
Pond’s Flawless White Ultra Luminous Serum (30ml, Php 480) — I love me a good serum. This claims to even skintone that’s been exposed to sunlight and pollution in just 7 days. VAO-B3 technology helps block skin pigmentation, nipping new dark spots in the bud. Their trademark GenActiv ingredient interrupts the skin’s melanin cycles, causing less pigment to appear.
Serums are kind of like more concentrated moisturizers with smaller particles, which mean that they penetrate the skin easily. This, in theory, means that results are delivered much quicker.
Pond’s Flawless White Dewy Rose Gel (50g, Php 399) — this is the first whitening product that comes in a refreshing gel form, clinically proven to lighten dark spots and smooth out pores. It also has alpine rose extract to help lock in moisture and reduce skin dullness in the skin. This can be used as a makeup primer, if you need that extra glow-y step to radiance.
Pond’s Flawless White BB+ Cream (25g, Php 299) — I love that these have SPF 30 PA+++ and that it’s formulated for Asian women. Like the FW serum, this has GenActiv, which reportedly hides blemishes instantly and repairs damaged skin permanently. This formula is non-comedogenic. I love makeup that doubles as skin care. You have no idea, you guys.
Pond’s Flawless White Re-Brightening Night Cream (50g, Php 340) — Again formulated with GenActiv, this cream is supposed to kick your skin’s regenerative powers into overdrive, to repair skin damage, and lighten and even out hyperpigmentation while you sleep.
BDJ also snuck in a 50ml tube of the Pond’s Pearl Cleansing Gel, for you to give to your best friend! 🙂
So, that’s the entire box. You can get your own BDJ Box for Php 580/mo with a promise of a box that’s triple in value each month.
What do you guys think about this one? I’m not too keen on the whitening thing, but I feel like this box would be great if you’re looking for a new skin care line to try, or if you’re trying to fill a gap in your current one. I’m personally eager to try the serum and BB cream, but perhaps I’ll try the latter when I’m a lot less tan.
