My relationship with nail polish oscillates so much between love and hate, we could probably star in a romcom. My small hands (short fingers!) with miniscule nails and nail polish are often a match made somewhere nasty. Call me babyfingers—ewwww. After much trial and error though, I figured out that a) I am not very adventurous when it comes to nail polish shades, b) but I won’t stand by a suckiness in formula, and c) the Seche Vite top coat is a godsend.
It is the turning point in my love-hate tale that finally turns it into a romance.
I was very much on the “How good could it be?” camp when it comes to Seche Vite. I mean, a top coat is a top coat, right? Wrong. Not all top coats are created equal. This one sure is ahead of the pack. I glopped on Essie Nail Lacquer in After School Boy Blazer (which I got for the name, of course, though thankfully I love the deep navy shade as well), topping it off with the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, and now I guess I’m wearing navy for the rest of 2014. (Maybe.)
This slices off about half of the anxiety I get when I paint my nails. Now, all I have to think about is what shade I want to wear next.
