Nailing it with Navy

My relationship with nail polish oscillates so much between love and hate, we could probably star in a romcom. My small hands (short fingers!) with miniscule nails and nail polish are often a match made somewhere nasty. Call me babyfingers—ewwww. After much trial and error though, I figured out that a) I am not very adventurous when it comes to nail polish shades, b) but I won’t stand by a suckiness in formula, and c) the Seche Vite top coat is a godsend.

It is the turning point in my love-hate tale that finally turns it into a romance.

Essie - After School Boy Blazer, Seche Vite

I was very much on the “How good could it be?” camp when it comes to Seche Vite. I mean, a top coat is a top coat, right? Wrong. Not all top coats are created equal. This one sure is ahead of the pack. I glopped on Essie Nail Lacquer in After School Boy Blazer (which I got for the name, of course, though thankfully I love the deep navy shade as well), topping it off with the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, and now I guess I’m wearing navy for the rest of 2014. (Maybe.)

This slices off about half of the anxiety I get when I paint my nails. Now, all I have to think about is what shade I want to wear next.

  1. Hmm, I should really try Seche Vite. My Revlon base/top coat just isn’t cutting it these days. And I think your tiny nails are adorable! I like that color, too. I have a similar Essie polish, No More Film, but the formula is sadly prone to chipping.

    • Seche Vite is so great. :0 There used to be a spray by Sally Hansen (I think?) that was a quick-dry thing. I loved that so much when I was a kid… I’ll have to look into that! Haha Essie is such a chipper, though. This is the only one I got but only because the NAME WAS SO CUTE. And the color. Ahem.

After School Boy Blazer… That name IS great! And the colour is beautiful. Will have to get this one.

    • Haha for someone who does nail art, you’re someone I can imagine needing many many bottles of Seche Vite. 🙂
