Just a quick post on the May 2014 Box from the Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP. If you’ve been here long enough, this may be a familiar installment for you, since subscribers are on their 10th month of the service. The Beauty Vault VIP offering was a year-long subscription service by New York-based luxury cosmetics brand, Le Métier de Beauté. You signed up and paid up front, so it was a bit steep. The amount paid including shipping and handling was evened out by the 3rd or 4th month, though.
For the May box, subscribers received two True Colour Eye Shadows, which are some of my favorite eyeshadow formulas. It seems like everyone received the same shades: Peachy Keen and Goldstone.
Peachy Keen is very close to my skin tone, just a hair peachier and warmer. Goldstone is a very warm, medium gold.
These swatches are made with one swipe, over bare skin. The eyeshadows come in a small round compact in a rubbery black plastic material, each with its own mirror (the size of the lid). The eyeshadows retail for $30 and are 3.8g or 0.13 oz. each. MAC eyeshadows clock in at 1.5g or 0.05 oz. each.
I had another LMdB eye shadow single in a neutral color called Naked, and I wanted to see it beside Peachy Keen. Naked is way lighter and way more neutral in comparison with Peachy Keen, whose peachiness I appreciate much more when it’s beside Naked.
I’m thinking of doing an LMdB swatch post of all of my eyeshadows by the brand. Is that something you’d be interested in? Do let me know!
Two months to go until the end of the sub. Right now, I’m undecided if I should take the plunge. I am kind of saving and decluttering, so I might not, but if I minimize all purchases for the twelve months of the sub, it might be worth it to try again.
