Tried & Tested: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer - Ginger - Tube Open

In a fit of consumerist desire, I bought the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer near the beginning of the year. I got it along with the NARS Sheer Glow (review), which I absolutely love. I’m not really a concealer fiend, so I was very unsure of this purchase (but so quick to throw away the money!) and I felt even more unsure when I felt like I had gotten the wrong shade for me.

My Sheer Glow shade is Punjab, which NARS has straightforwardly categorized as “Medium 1.” You would think that I had enough sense to pick up the Radiant Creamy Concealer in, similarly, “Medium 1,” but I went against this basic instinct and picked up “Medium 2,” or Ginger.

I think it’s a little peachier than “Medium 1,” but I’m just going by the Sheer Glow/RCC comparison. This deterred me, a little bit, from using it, but I found myself going back to it more frequently and then just exclusively. And then I did away with the base and just started using this for my undereye darkness!

The formula is great and quite creamy but also decently pigmented. I wouldn’t call it a full coverage concealer, but it works great for my needs. I personally set this with a powder (I use the Le Métier de Beauté Eye Brightening and Setting Powder in Refresh or an Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder if I’m feeling lazy), but that’s just me.

The applicator is a standard doe-foot applicator which is nothing special/nothing bad.

What I love most about this concealer is that it blends into the skin beautifully. When I lamented the darkness of this concealer, I was being dumb because even if it was—which I’m not even sure if it is anymore—the concealer just blends away like it wasn’t even there.

I mostly use this for under-eye coverage, because I can’t cover 3D blemishes for shit. It works for me, though, and I am very pleased with this so far. It’s a little pricey, but I find it to be worth it because it just makes everyday makeup so convenient for me. 🙂

  1. As creamy as this concealer is, something weird happens when I try to use it as an under eye concealer. I just can’t love anything as much as my Eve Pearl salmon concealer which I’ve already hit pan on after a month, ugh. 3D blemishes = a light layer of loose concealer pigment (BE Summer Bisque).

Really wanna try this now. I was waiting for your opinion on this when I saw you post this on your Instagram. 🙂 how much does this retail here in the ph?

  3. Gaaaah I should have gotten Custard! Or even this one, for my under eye area. I love the formula but Vanilla really is too white. I ended up crawling back to MAC Studio Finish. At least the shade match is good.

  4. ” fit of consumerist desire” love that! Also love this concealer, although it took me a while to get used to it, it was creamier than I thought it would be – you’d think I’d have guessed that!

  5. This is something new to try. I’m on a hunt for a nice concealer. I hit pan on my Benefit Boi-ing. And i’m not that impressed with it so will not repurchase. Thanks for the review on this one. It really does look like it’s not there! 🙂

    • This is super great. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, if ever you end up purchasing this!
