Nosy Beauty Vol. 22: Sunny

Happy Saturday everyone! You know what that means: Nosy Beauty! 🙂 Every Saturday, I ask someone to turn over their makeup bags and inspect their daily necessities. Today, we have Sunny, one of my favorite bloggers. She runs Mostly Sunny from beautiful Belgium, and it’s one of my go-to places for reviews on higher end makeup products. Let’s take a peek into her makeup bag, shall we?

khaki eyes, coral cheeks & lips

Sunny: I am a full time cat mama and translator by day!

Mostly Sunny 5 Product Face

I prefer to spend a little more time in the morning making sure my makeup would stay than touching up throughout the day. Therefore, I have a minimum of makeup products in my bag. However, I was recently tagged to do a 5-product face, and the things I used (I ended up using 6 though) are what I would call my staples!

Chanel Vitalumiere Compact Douceur, Cle de Peau Ocre (Ocher) Concealer

First up we have Clé de Peau Concealer. It’s amazing how little it takes and how much it covers! The texture is creamy and lightweight as well.

Second we have Chanel Vitalumière Compact Douceur. Powder foundations are great because it takes about 20 seconds to put them on, and they’re easy to carry around for touch-ups as well.

Diorshow Iconic Overcurl, Hourglass Arch Soft Brunette

I absolutely refuse to be without Hourglass Soft Brunette Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil. The shape makes defining my brows easy breezy, and the shade is the best match I have ever seen in a brow pencil!

I have tried many great mascaras, but Diorshow Iconic Overcurl has to be my favorite. It makes my lashes so fluttery!

LMdB Coral Nymph, Dior Spring Ball Addict Extreme

I have also been enjoying cream blushes, mostly because I don’t have to bust out a brush and wash it afterwards. Here you can see Le Métier de Beauté Coral Nymph Crème Fresh Tint, but I also enjoy Chanel Présage and Affinité a lot. The only lipstick that I carry in my bag on a daily basis is Dior Spring Ball Addict Extreme.

Sunny 5-Product Face

Not only does it go with virtually every look I want to wear, even when I only have my eyebrows defined, it adds a lot to my face!

Chanel Accent Joues Contraste FOTD

I’m not sure I really have a “philosophy.” However, I would say that finally discovering makeup is very empowering in a away. Growing up with monolids anywhere isn’t an easy thing, and I spent the first 25 years or so shying away from makeup because I didn’t believe anything would make a positive difference (I did start taking care of my skin early though).

Chanel Charming Ombres Matelassees de Chanel FOTD

That changed when I discovered Youtube tutorials and beauty blogs kept by Youtubers/bloggers who have a similar eye shape. I also discovered things like eye primer, gel liner, and cream shadow. Nowadays, there are so many formulas that perform really well, and everyone should be able to find stuff that works for them!

Estee Lauder Arctic Zinc FOTD

I don’t believe anyone “needs” makeup, but if it makes you happy, you should go ahead with it! Don’t let the mainstream values get to you. Whether you have paler skin, freckles, or monolids, you should feel free to do what you want with your face and feel good about yourself!

Heaps of thanks to Sunny who took the time to answer my silly questions. I hope you all enjoyed this week’s Nosy Beauty. 🙂 Next Saturday, I’ve asked a beauty blogger who makes some of my favorite eye looks. Can you guess whose turn it is?

  1. WOW. She came up with a lot of looks. And I love how she shades her monolids! There’s a great splash of color but they’re not hidden in the lids nor do they go the opposite in being panda eyes.

Have you swatched Cle De Peau? I hear too many raves but I only got to 4 shades and couldn’t find a match 😦

    • Galing no? 😀 I love how she plays with color.

Haha I don’t even want to go near a CdP counter. I just know it will spell doom for me.

  2. Two of my favorite beauty bloggers in one post! I came late to makeup, too: I didn’t wear any cosmetics except concealer until I was 23, because I thought of makeup as something people wore when they wanted to change or cover up their real features. I can’t believe it took me so long to discover the creative side of makeup (thanks to the internet, of course), and now I never get tired of reading about different finishes and textures and undertones.

    • Oh, thank you so much. ❤ I wore it pretty late, too! When I was 23/24 🙂 I LOVE the nuances of makeup and figuring out what works best for me, so I get what you mean. Thank you so much for reading and leaving a comment!

  3. Gah! One of my FAVORITE bloggers, in one of my FAVORITE blog series! I can’t take all this awesome! Thanks Carina for featuring Sunny. This was such a fun read.
