recent acquisitions no 4

Hello there! A new batch of “recent acquisitions” and stuff I’ve been testing recently. These are accumulated previous purchases as well as stuff I’ve received from several awesome companies. :)

MAKE Colour Post-Impression Palette by We See Beauty
I’ve been jonesin’ for these makeup items since the dawn of time (jk, 2013) but never got around to purchasing them because the website doesn’t want to take my money/credit card info. Anyway, I had such a hard time picking a palette—mostly because I wanted them all—but I ended up with this one. It’s freaking beautiful and it’s very “out of the box” for me, but I’m liking it so far. If I love it remains to be seen! Pixy Blush On in Brown Tea 02*
This is a pretty warm neutral blush that I received when I attended the Pixy launch last week (more on that later). The color is actually pretty nice everyday blush shade for the summer! It’s kind of a warm bronzer, with a little bit of shimmer.

Pixy Eyeshadow in Romantic Poem 01*
These colors—a matte mid tone mauve purple and a light shimmery pink—are totally up my alley. The shadows themselves are quite buttery and smooth, so this has been a great item to kind of play around with a bit.

Pixy Perfect Eyeliner in Black*
This is amazing. It’s a liquid liner, but not like the brush-tip Japanese ones that I love so much. This is similar to the Illamasqua Precision Inks and the essence ones, but I’ve been having a lot of fun with it. I have a more extensive review on these Pixy items and will show you guys the rest of the products they’ll be releasing on Philippine shores.

Pixy Lasting Matte Lipstick in Peach Delicacy*
I’ve reviewed a bunch of Pixy lipsticks in all of the finishes here. I received repeats of two shades, Haruka and Autumn Apricot, from there (which I passed on to my sister), so I’m testing this shade only this time around. :)

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream*
I’ve been using this a lot, despite not wearing a lot of nail varnish lately. I don’t really care for my cuticles (and it shows!), but this cuticle cream makes my nails and fingers look neat, at least. It smells really good, too!

I’ll post about some of these items more in-depth later on, but I’m just showing you where I’m at right now. I know this looks like a lot, but I’ve been having a lot of fun playing with a lot of my old makeup. I even rediscovered some new-old favorites.

Anyway, have a great weekend, everyone!

  1. The Burt’s Bees cuticle cream is my favorite; I’ve finished a full sized, and a mini sized one. I’m already halfway through my second full sized one! I do want to try Badger Balm’s cuticle cream once I’m done with this one, but overall, I have no complaints!

    • It’s sooo good. I kinda wanna use it on my toes, lol. I think Badger’s Balm might be a bit cleaner, maybe? I know Burt’s Bees is pretty natural, but Badger Balm is independently CF, right?

    • Recently posted a review :) I think they send some items through Birchbox sometimes. They are amazing!

I will check it out! Thanks for letting me know!

I like the Burt’s Bees cuticle cream! My cuticles get dry easily and tend to peel, and the cream works wonders on them, better than any hand cream.

    • Same here :D Mine don’t dry out that much, since I don’t really paint them all that often, but this stuff is made of magic!

  3. I need to find a way to get Make products. Well, just one product. The lip mattifier in previous posts.

RIght now, I’m on T. LeClerc exploration phase…… Really tempted to get some of their complexion products.

    • Hi Rae! They’re stocked with Barney’s and Nasty Gal and as far as I know, those retailers ship here :D

HAHAHA I don’t even want to counter-shop, at the rate I’m going with BUYING ONLINE UGH.
