Here’s another “forgotten” item from my days of overpurchasing. (Oops.) It’s a MAC Sheertone Shimmer Powder Blush in Ambering Rose, described by MAC as a “muted rose.” I myself find it to be a bit more of a golden terracotta/brick-ish color. It’s warmer and more orange-leaning than what I consider to be a rose—not exactly a color I’d immediately spring for—but it looked like a cooler rose shade online.

I think you can see what I mean from this swatch. It looks like a coppery peach, threaded with gold shimmer more than a muted rose, doesn’t it?

Anyway, I’ve worn it here! As usual, I’ve only applied the blush to the outer part of my cheeks—I look somewhat clownish when it’s placed on the actual apples. The shimmer doesn’t really translate on the cheeks as obviously as it does when swatched, but this is a great blush pick if you want a reddish glow-y cheek for the summer and don’t really want to spring for a highlighter.

  1. I’m so relieved it doesn’t look quite as shimmery on the cheeks! That would be a bit too much for this wimp. It’s very beautiful on you!

  2. I love to also place my blush on the outer parts of my cheeks because it doesn’t accentuate my chubby cheeks that much. Hehe.

The shade doesn’t look rose to me, either. :P This reminds me of NYX’s Terracota blush.

  3. Does this have a drugstore or local brand dupe? Love the color, but not the price. Trying to cut down on makeup expenses. :P
