Poreless Face Base

I shuffle between products, and it’s always a joy to discover new combinations that become solutions to problems I mysteriously always run into. I’ve been trying to use up some products, so the others I have often get neglected. In this iteration of a face base, I chiefly used three products to blur out the pores on my cheeks.

Face Base - Products

After moisturizing my face, I applied the BECCA Resurfacing Primer, which worked out better than I remembered it to in my original review. I then topped it off with a few layers of Ellana Minerals Loose Powder Foundation in Caramel Latte.* After that, I used the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette, mostly Dim Light on the cheek area as well as my forehead, but I used Incandescent Light to highlight and Radiant light on the outer edges of my cheeks.

I fell in love my sample of Benefit’s Porefessional but I can’t justify the price for it yet. I’ve been using Maybelline’s baby face for the time being.

Sorry this was forever ago. I was amazed at how my pores disappeared. I tried it on my sister the other day in Sephora but hers didn’t disappear as much as mine did so I guess it just depends.

I don’t really have a face base combination at the moment, just lots of concealer, but this looks flawless!

  3. Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen (Pink) + Guerlain Lingerie de Peau + Wulong! Unless I have to set my makeup properly (like now, because I have giant pimples grrrr), in which case I use Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder.

      Hi Krysty,

Is Burjois Healthy Balance Powder available in Manila? Thanks!

    • Huhu I’m so sad I never tried Guerlain base products when I still bought from them. I swatched the Chanel Les Beiges powder, too, and guuuuh. So nice.

  4. Good lord, you look flawless! Do you apply both the powders with a brush rather than a puff? I’ve been toying with the idea of acquiring a puff to ‘press’ my P&J bird balls into the skin as so many tutes recommend, but it does a great job just dusted on I wonder if I’m just making excuses to throw monies at pretty things :P

    • Hee, thank ya~ I used a kabuki brush for the mineral foundation and a Hakuhodo blue squirrel powder brush for the finishing powder! I haven’t tried a puff since I used it for a VERY WHITE powder and scared myself, but I’ve seen a few DIY tutorials for them if you don’t want to spend just yet~~

  5. Guerlain Primer + Lancome Teint Miracle + Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette + Meteorites = BYE BYE PORES! Gurl, love the effect of your poreless face base concoction, parang skin parin!

    • Thank you! Haha super naiilang ako pag liquid foundation minsan~! Feeling ko masyado lang ako marami maglagay, though.

  6. My favorite face base combo right now is the Smashbox Photofinish OIl-free Primer + Happy Skin Second Skin Creme Foundation + Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (t-zone and sides of the nose only) + Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. :)

Kevyn Aucoin SSE (w/ nothing else) or L’Oréal Lucent Magique mixed with a moisturizer or sunscreen lotion :D

  9. Love this look. I’d be so ridiculously happy if my foundation was called caramel latte. LOL. It would just start my day off in a great way. Anyways, I’ve been using a sample of Studio Gear’s primer and surprisingly, I really love it, more than any primer I’ve used, including that Hourglass mineral primer… I used a sample of Clarin’s Double Serum that I really want to purchase and start incorporating in to my skincare routine.

    • Haha! Their shade names are delicious. :D That’s so weird, but cool! I love finding hidden gems. :)
